C.O.P.S. Walk 2009

The 5th annual C.O.P.S. WALK will bring together survivors, friends, and members of the law enforcement community who will take on the challenge of walking 25 miles in two days to support Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.). This organization is very special to me and law enforcement because of the many programs and services that it provides for surviving families of law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. C.O.P.S. does not charge survivors for any of the healing services that it provides; survivors have already paid too high a price.

I will be walking again in honor of my late fiancé, Detective Terry Lee Melancon B.R.P.D., EOW 08/10/05. And in honor of all fallen law enforcement HEROES. This is my 3rd year participating, and I am more committed now than ever to help this deserving organization continue its mission of “rebuilding shattered lives” of our surviving law enforcement families. Last year, 70 dedicated walkers raised over $170,000; the goal for the 2009 C.O.P.S. WALK is $200,000. The 5th annual C.O.P.S. WALK will be held October 10-11, 2009, just outside Washington, DC.

All donations are greatly appreciated, and should be received by September 15th. 100% of all funds raised will go directly to C.O.P.S., and all donations are tax deductible.

*Checks should be made payable to C.O.P.S. and in the memo line: Lynn Harwell--CW
